PRESS RELEASE

Knowit Signs Agreement with the Swedish eHealth Agency on Digital Signatures

NON REGULATORY

The Swedish eHealth Agency has signed an agreement with Knowit for the installation, customization, and technical support of a digital solution for e-signatures and e-identification. Knowit will deliver the solution via the digital platform Signport, a secure and sustainable service for digital signatures.

The Swedish eHealth Agency enables digital services and leads the development of national digital infrastructure in health and social care.

“We see this as a significant step in the continued development of accessible e-services in the health sector. It represents a strengthening of the Swedish eHealth Agency’s digital capabilities,” says Mikael Monié, Business Manager for Signport at Knowit.

The delivery includes an identification service — with or without a personal identity number — a signature portal, and support services hosted on-premises. This means that documents signed never leave the servers of the Swedish eHealth Agency. It also includes a standalone signature service.

The first phase of implementation will be for Fritidskortet — a government initiative aimed at increasing access for children and youth aged 8–16 to participate in sports, culture, outdoor activities, and other community life.

The agreement with Knowit spans the coming four years, with an option for extension for up to an additional four years.
