CASE
BERGEN PRIDE
Digital design rooted in inclusion, diversity – and low-code
With a revamped website and refreshed identity, Bergen Pride now comes across as a clearer messenger of an important cause. At the same time, the visual expression remains playful and colorful – because Bergen Pride is a celebration, not just a protest.

CHALLENGE
Strengthening the voice, sharpening the message, increasing accessibility
Bergen Pride wanted to update its identity to better reflect Pride values while distinguishing itself from other organizations under the Pride umbrella. They also needed guidance on communications, marketing, and distributing their message. On top of that, the website required a refresh—and it needed to be as accessible as possible.

SOLUTION
A fresher identity, low-code approach, and “stickers”
Since starting their collaboration in 2022, Bergen Pride and Knowit have launched a new website, refreshed the brand identity, produced both digital and physical stickers, delivered social media training for the marketing team, and facilitated several panel discussions. They’ve also invited their clients to a breakfast meeting titled “The role of branding in public debate: Pride and pinkwashing.”
RESULT
A brand for everyone, everywhere
Although conventional branding wisdom cautions against trying to be “everything to everyone,” when it came to revitalizing the identity of an organization rooted in openness, inclusion, and diversity, Bergen Pride embraced the ambition to reach absolutely everyone—without losing its distinctiveness from other Pride organizations.
“Most Pride identities feature bold playfulness and strong colors, but they also differentiate through unique graphic elements. The refreshed identity of Bergen Pride has also undergone a renaissance of simplification,” says Aleksander Tonheim, senior ux designer at Knowit.

The stickers have become a hallmark of Bergen Pride’s uniqueness. Each year, many variations are produced—both digitally via Giphy and in physical form. The digital stickers have garnered 2 million views on Instagram and Snapchat, a figure that underscores their strong relevance and popularity.
The website is published entirely in English, maximizing accessibility. Moreover, strong emphasis has been placed on universal design and high-contrast visuals. Bergen Pride and Knowit used the low-code tool Vev, which offers design freedom and flexibility for playful graphic expression. At the same time, it allows the marketing team at Bergen Pride easy control over regularly updated content – such as program details and parade information. Importing designs from Figma is also seamless, making maintenance simple.
