PRESS RELEASE

Knowit integrates measurable sustainability in all cloud offerings

NON REGULATORY

As a frontrunner in sustainable technology consulting, Knowit is the first in the Nordic market to make its entire cloud offering sustainability-driven.

The new offer framework, called Knowit Sustainable Cloud, ensures that all cloud solutions provided by Knowit will include measurable sustainability indicators to meet the clients’ sustainability goals. A three-stage monitoring framework will help customers understand, optimize, and transform not only their cloud environment but their entire digital business in the face of climate change and their carbon footprint. As part of the Knowit Sustainable Cloud offer, Knowit is launching the Cloud Sustainability Scorecard combined with purpose-driven tooling.

The Knowit Sustainable Cloud framework combines the sustainability expertise of Knowit with advanced sustainability practices of the market-leading cloud providers AWS, Microsoft and Google, and other proven tools in the marketplace.

“Strong collaboration is the key to achieving a cloud sustainability impact which is greater than the sum of its parts. That is why we are working in alignment with our clients’ targets – as well as universities, nonprofits and our strategic cloud partners. Through the partnerships we can contribute towards goals, like the Paris Climate Accords, in a measurable and fact-based way,” says Tony Hendrell, CEO of Knowit Cloud Partnerships.

Knowit can help organizations to calculate and measurably understand the level of their sustainability throughout their cloud journey to manage cloud emissions, set goals for sustainable IT management and cloud solutions, and take measurable actions to get there. Increased transparency for sustainability within the organization and towards the market is a key value. Another is better tools to benchmark the organization’s sustainability performance.

As a member of the UN Global Compact, the Exponential Roadmap Initiative and the UN-backed global campaign Race to Zero, Knowit is integrating climate action into business strategy and helping clients reduce GHG emissions in line with the 1.5 °C climate goal.

“Sustainability is already an integral part of corporate responsibility. We now support our cloud clients in their sustainability journey to achieve their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals with proven methodology and measurable value. Nudging our clients towards a sustainable future is both a business opportunity and a responsibility we have toward future generations,” says Per Wallentin, CEO of Knowit.
