Knowit Dataunit and the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) have, for several years, collaborated regarding system solutions for the defence sector. The new order entails an increased commitment with delivery of a ”command & control” system for the Swedish Royal Navy, Neptun C2.

Neptun C2 will, in an international environment, provide staff groups within the navy with the possibility of more efficient planning and performance of operations with other nations. Neptun C2 is based on Knowit Dataunit’s IT security platform Triton and is developed in collaboration with the Finnish partner Navielektro. Neptun C2 consists of software and hardware in a network.

“We are proud to have been given this assignment and look forward to continuing to develop technical solutions in the defence sector. FMV is a strategically important partner for us, with which we get the opportunity to contribute to an important societal function. The deal will also lead to a number of new recruitments,” says Mats Thorstenson, CEO of Knowit Dataunit.

Knowit Dataunit has been collaborating with the Swedish Armed Forces, FMV, and the defence industry for over 25 years, and has built up competence and understanding for this field’s specific requirements and challenges, thereby contributing to the creation of several products and services which are now used in the defence sector. This includes communication, surveillance and security solutions for the defence and security sectors.

The value of the order is around SEK 80 million.
