Norwegian Innovation of the Year for TV 2 solutionPublished 09 Nov 2015
Norwegian TV 2’s newly developed solution Program Monitor has been awarded the Norwegian Computer Society’s BI Award for best innovation 2015. The solution was developed by Knowit and ID Management.
Program Monitor enables for TV 2 to react much faster and make decisions on programs and channels based on how they are perceived by viewers. The solution, developed by ID Management and Knowit, got the annual innovation award with a motivation from the jury that highlighted ”how information from social media is integrated and analyzed together with data from internal sources and automated media measurements. The results are presented to the end user visually.”
The solution gives TV 2 increased opportunities to predict how well a program will succeed and how many viewers it will get.
– TV 2 has over a million followers of its shows in social media and analyses of comments and shares are one of the most important components in the solution. This is a very good example of how it is possible to achieve great value when interpreting and analyzing ”Big Data.” We have developed this as a cloud service and already have plans for how we can help other clients with similar needs, says Ingvar Larsson, head of Knowit Decision in Oslo.
The BI award is presented annually by the Norwegian Computer Society’s expert group on Business Intelligence. The award is given the company that can show the most innovative solution and which also is developed and maintained using best practices for Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing solutions. The BI award was presented for the first time in 2009.
