Mid Sweden University launches new website

Published 25 Sep 2014

Mid Sweden University is launching a new external website developed by Knowit in Sundsvall. The site has a connection to the university’s education database, to facilitate for future students to find courses and study programs. Knowit has had full responsibility for the entire development project.

– The new site has a responsive design, meaning it is accessible to all types of units – computers, tablets and smartphones – regardless of make and model. We can see that traditional personal computers are less common, with tablets and smartphones becoming more popular. This makes it even more important to tailor websites to suit the new channels, says Magnus Olovsson, client manager at Knowit.

The new website, developed in EPiServer 7.5, provides support for a modern search engine that guides visitors to the most important thing that Mid Sweden University has to offer: education. There is also particular support for search engine optimization. The site has built-in integration to the University’s course and education system, as well as the national website for applications to colleges and universities, www.antagning.se. The site will be launched in the fall of 2014.

– The goal of the new Mid Sweden University website is to better satisfy the needs of our target groups. Therefore, we needed to develop both an interactive design and functionality, but above all make the website accessible to smartphones, tables and computers. The result was very satisfactory and we are pleased with our collaboration with Knowit in this project, says Kicki Strandh, communications director at Mid Sweden University.
