Knowit is reinforcing its operations in decision support through the foundation of Knowit Decision O2 in Oslo. The company supplements existing operations in decision support in Norway. Ingvar Larsson, the CEO of the company, has over twenty years’ experience of decision support and Information Management.

– There is an ongoing development with new opportunities in technologies and methods, where we want to become an important part. Knowit has a strong position for the new Business Intelligence arena, with the specialist competence needed to offer our clients total solutions, including business advisory, digital design, information security and system and web development, says Ingvar Larsson, CEO of Knowit Decision O2.

Ingvar Larsson most recently worked for Affecto, where he held a management position in the business advisory department. He has formerly held management position at i.a. SAS Institute and Hyperion (which is now a part of Oracle).

According to Gartner, the market is moving away from traditional data warehouse solutions, usually based on a single platform from a single supplier, to ”the logical data warehouse” with hybrid solutions. These have functions based on optimized technologies and tools, such as virtualized integration of new sources, cloud solutions and visualized user interfaces from the supplier best suited for the client’s solution.

It has become necessary to collaborate with both large, established suppliers like Oracle, SAS and Microsoft, and with more specialized suppliers and open source solutions.

Knowit has been a leading partner to SAS Institute for many years and the new venture supplements this side of operations in Norway. It is Knowit’s ambition to position itself in regards also to other platforms demanded by the clients, that can be adapted to suit client needs.
