Knowit helps children learn more

Digital teaching aids are used more and more in schools and at home. Knowit wants to contribute to increased knowledge in society by developing digital teaching aids for children. The first one is the math game ”Learn to count” developed by Knowit in collaboration with specialist teachers in mathematics.

The application ”Learn to count” is tailored for children aged 4-12 years and serves to practice the four fundamental rules of arithmetic. Practicing the four rules of arithmetic helps children achieve the mathematics goals and knowledge requirements in the Swedish curriculum LGR 11.

Planned knowledge games are ”Ten buddies” and ”Number neighbors”. The applications are developed jointly with registered teachers in each respective area. As they can be used in any channel – computer, tablet or cell phone – they are accessible all the time, from any place.

– The goal of developing the games, which are free to download, is to make simple tools that stimulate the curiosity of children. It is a way for us to contribute to learning in society and create a positive attitude toward knowledge and learning, says Axel Holtås, head of Knowit Mobile AB.

”Learn to count” is currently available for the Android platform and in Sweden. An iPhone version and the option of choosing between multiple languages will be launched shortly. Anyone interested in downloading the application can do so free of charge at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=se.knowit.mathpuzzle
